2025 Dental Public Health Board Preparation Workshop Registration Form
Greetings! Thanks for your interest in the 2025 Dental Public Health Board Exam Workshop, held in Chapel Hill, North Carolina from Friday, May 2, 2025 - Sunday, May 4, 2025.
Course Goals:
- Understand the process and components of the Qualifying and Certifying Exams.
- Self-assess your preparation for the exam and discover areas where you might want to strengthen your knowledge and skills.
- Discuss the 10 dental public health competencies, and key resources for preparing for each competency.
- Develop a study plan and identify study partner. You may become resources for each other for the rest of your careers!
- Participate in a mock case presentation and receive feedback.
- Participate in a group mock assigned problem presentation and receive feedback.
Topics Covered:
- Mock Written Exam and Exam Review – on Friday; optional for people who have already passed the qualifying exam.
- 10 Dental Public Health Competencies
- Mock Case Defense (specific to Certifying Exam) – can elect to participate
- Completion of Assigned Problem (specific to Certifying Exam) – all candidates will be assigned to groups and expected to participate
Please note that active participation in the workshop is expected. Participants will be assigned one of the ten DPH competencies to prepare in advance, then bring to the workshop to discuss. More information will be provided upon registration.

Please note, if you have already completed an AAPHD course (i.e. Fall Access to Dental Care and Oral Health Policy Course), you will likely already have a Canvas account and do not need to create a new one.
