2017 ABDPH Director-Elect Candidates


The following are candidates for ABDPH Director-Elect 

David Moss  

David Moss graduated from the University of Iowa in 1985 and immediately joined the Army as a dental officer where, after 31 years of service, continues fulfilling his goal of serving the profession and country. After 12 years of providing general dental care, he was selected for graduate training in public health. He completed his MPH at Emory in 1996 and DPH certificate program at the CDC, Division of Oral Health with Stuart Lockwood as his mentor. Dr. Moss was certified as ABDPH Diplomate in 1998. His military career has included research, academia, administration, and policy development. He has lectured in biostatistics for comprehensive dentistry residents, performed epidemiological surveys of oral health needs of military recruits, and currently assists the Army Dental Corps Chief in policy formulation and strategic planning for the Army Dental Enterprise. 



Georgia Rogers 

Georgia Rogers is a US Army Dental Officer who received her training in dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania and completed the 1-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Ft. Campbell, KY. COL Rogers received her MPH from the University of North Carolina in 2001, completed the Dental Public Health Residency at the North Carolina Oral Health Section (2002), and achieved Board Certification in 2004. Her assignments at the US Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine, the Tri-Service Center for Oral Health Studies at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and the Office of the Surgeon General of the Army provided experience conducting population-based studies to investigate oral disease rates and patterns, researching the literature and synthesizing evidence to support dental resource allocation and incorporating oral disease prevention principles into Army policies and programs. COL Rogers was appointed as the Consultant to the Army Surgeon General for Dental Public Health in 2013 and currently provides both clinical care to Soldiers at Aberdeen Proving Ground Dental Clinic and input to Army and DoD agencies on issues relating to oral disease surveillance, analysis of oral health data, and clinical and community oral disease prevention.
